I think I'm having some sort of . . . episode. But idk.

Well, let me begin by saying that I have quite a few things on my mind. Such as an obsessive bipolar girl clinging to me constantly in which there is no escape, my friend is doing some things that I've been trying to protect her from, my mother's financial problems(I'm only 13), my timid personality limiting me, etc. So these past few weeks, I've been having some sort of episode. Sometimes I have to rush to the bathroom in school. What happens is I get really dizzy, break out crying, and "almost" faint. I looked up panic attacks, but every site mentions upset stomache and some other things that I'm not experiencing at all. I don't know if this is coming from my stress and worries or if there's just plain something wrong with me. Can someone please give me some kind of idea what the heck is going on? lol.

Hi Marberry95,

It sounds to me like you are having anxiety/panic attacks. I don't believe that they have to include an upset stomach. You seem to be under a lot of stress. Too much for a 13 year old. I think that you should go and talk to the guidance counselor at your school. He or she would be the best person to start with and they will be able to help you sort through some of the stress that is going on in your life right now. I really think that it would be a good thing for you. And that is what they are there to do. Wishing you all the best Smile .

There's no one set of symptoms that describe anxiety attacks. People react to stress in different ways. Some do get stomach upsets. Some don't. You need to see someone. Left undealt with, anxiety can make it impossible for you to function normally.

Just because you do not meet specific individual critieria for the diagnosis of panic attack does not mean you do not suffer from it.  You may be having a near panic attack.  However, there is no way to know what is going on with you unless you are evaluated.  I do think you have a lot on your plate for a 13 year old.

Is there a school counselor you can talk with?
