Hi,

Basically it's the strongest economy in the world. No doubt about it. It's one of the only economies that is toally independent on other economies. However temporarily it's in a low point mainly dew to the huge costs of the war in Iraq. At present the administartion is spending more that the economy can efford (and that's the reason the dollar gets weaker and weaker). I belive it will continue to go down some 5% more. A weak dollar will give a big bust to the export and will decrease the import. Since, as I mentioned above, the American economy doesn't really need any import, so it's actually good news and will push to efficiency and growth. All in all: Don't worry it's a very strong economy and sure will recover.

I have been thinking a lot about the US economy lately because of all the buzz regarding the US dollar. Even though the US economy seems weaker now than in the past, I really think that in the long run the US dollar will pick up.

Looking at the past 10 years one can see that on numerous occasions the dollar lost value and every time it hit a low, there came a period of substantial growth and rising in value. I strongly believe in the American economy and in its ability to overcome difficulties. Choosing a president that will pull out of Iraq, in the 2008 elections, will be a key move in bringing the US back into the green.
