'What did you think of the documentary "Sicko?"

I saw a documentary recently,  "Sicko,"  only because my son thought it was important!  Michael Moore made some good points  yet I'll make one to him, Smile"You might want to look into your own health because you were looking more than a bit beat up; to be half as cool as you think you are the words fat and elderly like came to mind!"Smile

I refuse to see any of Michael Moore's "documentaries"  In my opinion, He cannot find anything good in America to "document."  I think he enjoys stirring things up even if he himself doesn't believe all of it.  It does bring him money, but I will not spend my money or my time on his so called films...even the ones that win Academy Awards.  ps:  believe it or not, I've told him that in person.  He's actually a very easy person to talk to.  Soft spoken, witty and pleasant.

WWWW?

Although never been a fan of Mr. Moore, the person, nonetheless it is the message, not the messenger, that should be paramount.

Since I've never seen the film, this thread reminds me I want to, so I will.

wwww and nanadee, you both disagree with my post regarding seeing any of MM's films.  Until he makes one that is not politically based or a politically based one that presents a mature viewpoint I simply am not interested.

I have seen clips of all of MM's movies.  That is what I based my decision upon.

I have family members who have seen the films ( MM's) and have heard from them why they think the films are so good.

I see MM in person quite regularly and he knows how I feel and we are still able to converse in a civil manner.  MM is a decent, kind person and his sense of humor is brilliant.  I like him very much.

I do not want to sit and watch what he calls "truth" which I believe to be slanted toward the leftist view of America which he does hold, as well as my oldest son.(who is the same age) We've talked things out and that's simply the way things are with us.

I also do not see any of Oliver Stone's movies.  I have seen a couple that were fictionalized accounts of true stories. I do not know Mr. Stone.

I also do not spend my money and time watching horrow films.  I do not enjoy them.  They are not thrilling to me.  I do not watch car chase movies; graphic sexual content movies; loud shouting people on television; sensationalized "news" programs;blood; guts;and gore movies.   I do not purchase Madonna's music even though I have occasion to be in her presence and find her to be a very sweet girl.

If you two feel you have a right to your opinions, then allow me mine also.

What about me???? I am Changing!!

This was about health care in the United States and why it is cheaper in 3rd world countries such as Cuba.  I think his weight and all is really not the issue here. Yes he could probably take better care of his health if he is representing a health issue for Americans but he did make a good point in seeing the way that health issues are resovled cheeper for others in Cuba.

I don't see Americans flocking to Cuba for health care.
