A difficult question, in my opinion.  If Israel has strong evidence that Iran's nuclear program will imminently produce nuclear weapons -- perhaps even dirty bombs -- it might feel that it needs to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities without regard to world opinion.  If the prospect of nuclear weapons is unclear or distant, then Israel should work with other countries and try to generate support for its actions.  The difficult part is telling whether the threat is clear or unclear, and immediate or not.

War is always a bad choice,  the big challenge is to find a solution  without firing a single shot. In order do do that we should understand why Iran is developing such a weapon. This ind of power wasn't used in a long time and I believe most of the world is afraid of it's consequences. In my opinion Iran is afraid of an American invasion. Entering Iraq the Americans have posed a new threat to Iran. Secondly maybe they want to reach the ability in order to cause Israel to disarm herself and not really use it. Like mentioned before though question but an attack will should be the last resort.

"What you think you know may not be so."

Ultimately, the use of nuclear weapons destabilizes the whole planet. We would probably all be drawn into its horrific aftermath.

The ONLY value to nuclear weapons is deterrence. Parity of nukes among adversarial nations is probably the greatest deterrent to war.

I find it hypocritical and abusive of power for the US and/or the NATO countries to proscribe various Asian nations from acquiring or developing nuclear weapons. Iran is going to be a major power in the Middle East - whether we find it disconcerting or not.

Love your life.

If the Israelis have evidence that Iran is continuing to pursue nuclear powers, the only way to stop this is to act on the offensive. Iran needs to realize that it's not just Israel that is affected by their behavior. While the Iranians talk of destroying the Jewish state, any action the Iranians take will be at the detriment of the Western world, not just Israel.

Well rebecca c. Hit it on the head right off the bat! I would like to elaborate a little by saying that if isreal does decide to attack without americas consent then they may not receive any support from us because we are already busy with another war and they will loose the support of the american people and many political leader in america, especially if we have a democrate in office.
