Do you think 36 is too old to go to grad school?

I graduated more than 15 years ago and somehow never got around to finishing my education. Would it be too weird for me or for the other students?

Not at all! People are getting their degrees much later in life now! My friend's father went to law school when he was 45, and while he joked that he was older than some of his professors, he never regretted his decision for a minute! I don't think the other students would find it strange at all. When I was in university I had some students that were way on their way to retirement in class with me and none of us felt strange about it at all. If anything, they got more respect for their general knowledge. You are still young and should not feel nervous at all about your age. I assure you that unless you start showing up at undergraduate freshman parties, you will not feel out of place!

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,

Never too late to learn.  If that's what you want don't even hesitate.  My friend's mom made her MSc at the age of 62.....  most of the student could have been her children not to say grandchildren..... Don't mind too much what other think or say, as long as you set your goals and your priorities you shouldn't mind.....  Go for it !!!.
I wish you the best of luck.

No, it's not too old, or too young.  Age doesn't matter.

And it would not be weird for the other students to see someone older than them.

The bigger question to ask is even if it weirded "students" out, why would you care, and why would you be weirded out if this is what you want to do.

Even if you can't answer what you are afraid of, bite the bullet and just do it.

Hey did you know there is not a guaranteed way to win chess, but a guaranteed way not to lose a game of chess?  It's not to play chess.  But where's the fun in that?

Hello Joe,

Go for it!

I started undergrad EE at age 27 and finished my Masters in EE at age 33. Later I went back to get my MBA at age 52. That has really opened up new opportunities.

If you love the subject, and are enthusiastic.. go for it.

In today's knowledge economy, continuous education is a plus, if not a necessity.

go for it!

PG

If you think that going to a college and sitting with young people, is some what embarrassing, you can try learning using Internet.

Enroll for an online course and get the degree... completely online.
