In my line of work, I deal with people that steal. The neighborhood where I work isn't the prettiest or nicest, meaning that there is a lot of theft. Believe it or not, I have caught 11 year old kids stealing! These kids aren't just stealing candy or petty stuff, these kids are stealing over $200 worth of merchandise. Kids, are understandable because they are in the process of learning what's right and wrong..not that it should be allowed or tolerated, but you get my point.
Now, I have also caught people as old as 73 years old. You would think that by this time in their lives, they would know the consequences of stealing but yet, they commit the crime as if they were 11 year old kids! I am aware that a lot of people go through tough times that they have to turn to stealing, but the truth is that if you get caught stealing, you would end up paying 3 or 4 times over the original price of the item.
I have also caught many people that have twice as much money on them than the original item that was stolen and when I ask them why they stole the merchandise they have all responded that they wanted to feel the rush of stealing and committing a crime...
Regardless of religion, stealing is wrong. I believe that about 80% of theft is done by opportunists and the rest are all OC (Organized Crime).
My question is, why do you think people steal? (Let's put aside that they are going through "tough times
