How to tell a good friend you are not interested and not ruin the relationship?

I just met this new friend at a place I work and she is very friendly. We get a long just fine and I personally think she is great but not in an romantic sense. I can feel she is interested in a romantic relationship. How can I tell her and not harm our friendship? These things always happen to me, after I tell them I am not interested the relationship is not the same. I would appreciate any good tips!

Perhaps if you have a girl friend you could work that into the conversation (or a fake one ) for convience.  Then tell her shes a great friend.  Try to keep the conversation light and by the way (How do you know she is really interested?  Tell us all so we know as well)

Be open with her. Tell her that you value her friendship and that you would love to continue being good friends without being negative in your approach. For more tips on friendship you can peep into

I too had a problem like this.  I told her that I was very humbled that she felt that way about me, however, I just needed a friend, to talk and walk with.  No more, no less.  In my case, she said that's o.k.

We have been married for 35 years.  She told me that you need to be friends before you can be lovers.  In your case, you don't want to hurt her feelings and I understand that.  Just be as kind as you can and tell her how you feel.

I hope you can be friends.  We all need all the friends wwe can get.

I was in this situation.  I was the girl.  He acted aloof and heartless when I just pushed him away.  When I stopped answering his calls, texts, emails then he got all sweet again.  He realized that i was the best thing for him, but it was too late.  i would not play his game.  and he lost out.
