Are you still counting all of the engineers that are working but not in engineering. I know many many engineers that are working 2-3 jobs doing any job they can find. These people are unable to get work in the proffession the have degrees in adn years of experience. Instead they take any jobs they can to survive retail sales, box boy.. selling donuts. We keep seeing companies ask for more visas. And all the time we see more and more engineers right here with the skills that are better then these people we are hiring from other contries without work in the field the are trained. And I for one am very tired of picking up the slack for these visa holders we are hiring that cannot do the job while I know many good US engineers not able to geta job back in this industry. I just do not understand why we interview qualified peopel willing to take less pay then a person with a visa from another country with no experience. But we end up hiring a person wiht no experience on a vias. We pay them more then I can hire someone from US with degree and expereince. Then these folks cannot even do the job. And we try adn try but we just cannot train them. I am not sure how they end up with degrees from other countries but they have learned nothing.
