How new technology impacts on micro and macro ...

It is very dangerous and is creating a big impact on the environment

When new technologies come fourth there isn't always a clear picture regarding what their effects in the future might be. This fact leads to many cases where technologies being used, turn out to be harmful to us and to the environment.
Take asbestos for instance. For years it was used before it was discovered that the substance is highly carcinogenic and detrimental to the environment. Companies don't have the time to do extensive testing over tens of years before they release a product.

It seems that on the one hand new technology brings with it exciting possibilities but on the other hand can be destructive as well.

Lots of work on that issue everywhere !

- new tech give opportunities to hurt environment and asks for energy as never before in History

- it also offers opportunities to solve issues (eg : working from home with network, clean techs... can drastically reduce energy use for any given task).

I could have taken examples in health, food, whatever... 

the real and only issue is what we use it for (money ? progress ? rich people ? all of us...)

and THAT is not a question of technics or science.
