Every person with US income pay the same rates; citizens, resident alients, and non-resident alients.  For tax year 2008 the rates were 10%, 15%, 25%, 28%, 33%, and 35%.

Everyone pays 10% on their first $8,025 to $16,050, depending on their marital status.

The other rates are for the "marginal" amounts earned.  So single people pay 15% on their income between $8,025 and $32,550, PLUS 25% of iincome between $32,550 and $78,850, and so forth.

For the entire "Tax Rate Table," go to www.irs.gov.

The rates depend on your marital status and the amount of earnings.
