Did you know about the tax refund you were entitled to? I would like to hear from people who were not contacted by the City of New York OPA (Office of Payroll Administration) and the NYC Bd of Ed, regarding the FICA refund they were entitled to if they worked for the city between the years 1987-1991. This money was the result of class action lawsuit Doctors Council vs. NYCERS. The money was released during the mid 1990s until 2006. These people overpaid FICA taxes and OPA told me they made a huge effort to contact everyone, but I was not contacted nor were 1000 other people. As a result, the portion of money went back to the City of New York. I did not know about this because they did not send notification to my correct mailing address. The IRS has informed me that it is the responsibility of the Bd of Ed and OPA to release this money. Because I did not receive this money I am continuing to pursue this matter and would like to hear from those who are still trying to get their money also.
