That's an interesting question.
I don't know if it's possible to design a psychological experiment to test this theory, there are far too many factors that can interfere. But if you're interested in people's personal experiences, I personally listen to a lot of electronic music today, that I wasn't so keen on listening to around the age of 20. However, I find that my favourite electronic tracks happen to be those that were released when I was around the age of 20...
Of course, this may be just a coincidence. Or maybe those tracks were played at parties I went to around the age of 20, and although I wasn't listening to them at home, listening to them again invokes old memories?
Or maybe it's not so much about the artists or the style, but the quality of production, or the level of commercialism, or some other qualities that change with time in the music industry and that our collective ears get used to without us even knowing...
