The road to nowhere is paved with good 'intentions'.

On yedda, do you go by the motto; "If you don't ...

On yedda, do you go by the motto; "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?"  In your own opinion, do you think that's best?  Somtimes I really want to let people 'have it' so to speak, but then I feel terrible!  Like maybe I should just back off on some of the answers/ or comments I want to make. How do you handle your 'Personal feelings' on certain topics where you really just want to tell some body who and what for?  Do you? Or do you think it's important to always be tactful, and careful with the way you answer?

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,
Brilliant question.  In Hebrew there is a saying (סייג לחוכמה שתיקה) it's hard to trnslate but it is somethimg like: He who wnats to master wisdom must lknow how to keep quite".   Personally I don't have that problem, I say (write) what I think.... well I try doing it in a nice & sensetive & tactfull as possible but I'll never lie or be vague / unclear......   I have to admit that sometimes I have to pay the price but on the other hand everyone knows that my moth speaks the same identical language as my heart.... (100% integrity).... so I don't mind too much to pay the price.....  Even at Yedda I give unpopular answers and sometimes people don't like it, but at least I say what I believe is my inner truth.
Best regards,

Live simply, love generously and  care deeply.

Hi Mrankens,

I totally agree with OronD's opinion, brilliant as always.  I gave him 2 thumbs up.  I read the Yedda questions and I most of the time try to be honest with my response and my motive is not to hurt or disappoint the questioner but to be able to help solve the problem.  It's human nature to always expect favorable answers even if they know in their minds that the particular answer will not actually help the situation.  In other words, people like to hear sugar-coated answers.

Like OronD said it is not easy to be honest really because one is viewed as tactless or insensitive.

I have asked numerous personal questions here at Yedda and I really appreciated all the honest answers that I got from the answerers.  I realized that I made mistakes and personally it does not feel good for someone else to point out my wrong-doings or wrong beliefs.  But nonetheless, I  did not get upset about those responses.  I even gave them 2 thumbs up for trying to show me my mistakes and taking the time to help me.

Surrender.  Surrender.  But don't give yourself away . . . .

   ~ Cheap Trick ~

Tell it like it is.  You don't have to use profanity, but if you think someone needs a kick in the pants, give them a whack.  Many people post here just to get people angry, so be careful not to fall into that trap.  But, if you read a question that seems to be serious, and is vile or, whatever, feel free to vent.
