I suspect a miscarriage

I'm a 35 year old, I had 2 successful pregnancies during the past 5 years..

I have stopped taking the pill for the past 8 months.

The first day of my last cycle (regular 30 days) was on the 5th of December 2006, but on the 28th of December I had red spotting, more like bleeding, and after I washed I didnt have any bleeding since, only pinkish slightly mucous discharge at times and other times brownish discharge, accompanied with really very sore breasts which I usually dont experience during my periods-, lower backache, and mild cramps in my uterus.. I still have 5 days to go for my period, and I suspect pregnancy, however, the home test indicates no pregnancy.. Should I wait one more week till the actual date of my period? Or should I suspect a miscarriage?? I also think it is too early to do a home test.

I think it would only be considered a miscarriage if implantation had occurred. If implantation had occurred and lasted for more than a day or two, you would have had a positive pregnancy test, so I don't think it would be considered a miscarriage.

It may be too early to test, the bleeding you describe could be implantation bleeding or perhaps, for whatever reason, your hormone levels dropped causing the bleeding.

I recommend waiting until your period is due and if it doesn't come, repeating the pregnancy test.

Thanks Rachel,

yes, this is what i'm suspecting now, a miscarriage, i'm aching all over my body, and i have the strangest fatigue feeling.. I also wake up every morning with very light pink discharge, but for the rest of the day it's only brownish discharge.

I'm suspecting the miscarriage, more because my husband is a heavy alcohol drinker and a heavy smoker of both pot and normal cigarettes.. which wasn't as heavy in my previous pregnancies as it is now..  and i guess these kind of things threatens the fetus, am I right?

I'm away from the city and going back tomorrow morning where i'll be heading directly to my doctor.. I will let you know the result soon as i can..

Hello, just got back from the clinic, apparently I am pregnant, wow... but... chances are 50/50, so there could be a miscarriage, because of the discharge.. i have to be at bedrest for another week... will let u know how it goes... thanks..

wow i am 15 and i am have a brownish discharge.
it is about the same time every day. i'm really worried and i don't think that there is anything wrong. i'm just not sure yet.
it has never done this to me before.
