I am wanting to get my 12 year old son a laptop ...

I am  wanting to get my 12 year old son a laptop for Christmas.  He would just mainly need it for e-mail and surfing the net.  Any suggestions on the type to buy?

I'll highly recommend on Lenovo X61 and in 2nd place Acer.  The Lenovo x61 has a 12" screen so if you want a bigger screen take the Lenovo T60 (costs more and is heavier as well).  Don't purchase it from Del (recent information of degradation in quaslity).
