A particular Nigerian adage says, “What is after the number six is much more greater than just the number seven”, all levels are step to another greater level. Walt Kelley said and I quote, “we are confronted with in summontable opportunities”. I looked the entire world round and saw that successful men of ages where never contented with their present situation. The world is full of mysteries and discoveries and our attitude to life may recover the hidden treasures of nature, because where we are is not as half important to what lies ahead of us. success is not achieved “stand-still”, but like flowing water and it depend more on what we do to achieve it.
An enemy of the ordinary is an entity that is contending with the present, reflecting on the past and packaging this as an instrument to projecting the future. The world we live in today is most often referred to as a “Global Village”, why because technology keeps growing each and every day. The globalization and modernization of the 21st century is a clear illustration of being the enemy of the ordinary. The world has grown from living in hurts and bamboos, to red-bricks, to cements and modern day glass blocks. This was made possible by the ability to explore the unimaginable, through series of trial and error mechanisms. What were believed to be the peak in the 17th and 18th centuries are now the starting points for development in the present 21st century. For instance, an atom was described as the smallest indivisible particle, but modern day research has said atoms contains protons and electrons, several stated laws have been improved upon. A fact still remains that, “there is no new thing under the sun”. All these were present in the ancient but we must get to the bridge before we cross it.
The driving force of being the enemy of the ordinary are, determination, information and focus ;
· Determination is one very important thing to success, because determination is proportional to achievement, what we desire, we acquire. The power of success is determination and its backbone is desire. To be the enemy of the ordinary one must be ready to faces challenges and tackle them, because the mind build the life of a man. A man without strong desire will be the same what he is today in the next generation to come.
· Information as been said to be power and, the power of information is knowledge. Wisdom gives knowledge. To stand in the gap of the ordinary, you must be better informed. I belief strongly that, life is full of mystery but the wise acquires its riches. Wisdom is not an inheritance but a gift of nature and the mystery of it is that, when we have it we have life, “Wisdom unfolds treasures of life”.
· A focus man has a focused mind, to be focused in life is not the setting of the eyes but of a focused mind-set. The reality of life is a pre-set of the mind. This means that the heart makes a man, determination brings about success. Life is built on the foundation of the mind-set. It is thought that guides the mind to excellence and knowledge makes a man excel.
The enemies of the ordinary never lie on the carpet of life where rugs are better laid and more comfortable. They are agitated by the convenience of life into a brighter and more beautiful living; they are never stagnant, always pushing forward and setting their mind in tune with their vision. While lovers of the ordinary are psycho sclerotic, and Ashley Mongaque defined psycho sclerosis as: “the hardening of the attitude which causes a person to cease dreaming, seeing, thinking and leading”.
