Should I start a blog?

I have always liked to write, but never had much of an outlet for it besides, the occasional short story in collage. I have gotten a fairly good response for my writing skills, most of the time. But mostly from family so that hardly counts. I also received praise from a new friend of mine, Njoy, about a little self biography I wrote in hopes of getting people to better understand my question. You can read that in the comment section of Skitches answer to my question on the second page of comments at:, http://yedda.com/questions/Sanity_mental_health_psychology_504109983859269/.  I am not absolutely sure about how one goes about starting a blog, I'm not the most computer literate person on the planet. But do you think I should?

I have 2 blogs, one was an amazing outlet for a difficult couple of years in my life, it also got me writing so much - before the blog I never really wrote with having an audience it mind, it was a wonderful experience. also, that's how me and my husband met - he came across it and wrote me an e-mail and that's how we started talking.

The other one is mostly promotion to my etsy store and a quick scan of what I'm working on at the moment, as well as random thoughts and feelings.

I think blogging is a really good way to contemplate life and reach out to people, it's really have no challenges as far as technical computing goes, just sign up to any blogging service (I really like blogger) and start writing. Really that's all there is to it.

Hi,

You can do whatever you want to do as long as you don't violate the law.Laughing

Good luck with that.

As a children's author, I ask: why do you want a blog? Will it help your writing? Will it get you potential readers? I don't have a blog, but do use Facebook where you meet fellow writers from all over the world to share ideas. Twitter? I was advised to join but rarely use it as some of the posts are stupid and suggests the writers have nothing better to do. Indeed, there is only one 'Twitterer' I follow. So you must decide, as a would-be writer. Blog or WRITE.

Write, Elijah.  Write every single day.  Write on scraps of paper, on computer screens, on toilet paper if that is all you have.  Emote, express, share, comfort, enthrall, and most important of all . . . . LOVE!  Look at old things in a new way.  Observe the new and note its strengths and weaknesses.  Write about yourself.  Write about others.  Write about this world ~ this pale blue dot.  Share your dreams, your pain, your mysteries.  Feed us your thought, Elijah!!
