First of all, I want to clarify something about PI.

PI is an irrational number, that is, it can not be expressed with a finite number of digits or as a fraction of two numbers. PI cannot even be expressed as a repeating sequence of digits.

Secondly, unless you are in elementary school, PI^(1/2) is a totally legitimate answer/number to use and in fact it is much more accurate then 1.772. The same goes for the square root of 3 or e^(2/3)

Hope I was help full.

Its an irrational number... so its impossible to write down the answer in a purely numerical way.

However if you want an approximation try using a spreadsheet e.g. Excel

A1=PI()=3.14159265358979

B1=A1^0.5=1.77245385090552

But I'm worried about why you're asking... perhaps you're an engineer?

Square root of Pi would be an acceptable answer.

It is approximately  1.772453851

That is very imprecise, so just leave it as sqrt(pi)
