What goes around comes around

Hi,

I found a study conducted by 2 Doctors. They actually tested two groups: One that used black pain and another that didn't. their conclusion was that the black paint did in fact help reduce glare and assisted in improving visual acuity. Take a look for yourself:

Take care.

I enjoy using Yedda to ask and answer medical questions. I previously worked as a nurse but am now based from home - having just completed a long spell of breast cancer treatment.

Life has also been busy lately after the arrival of our new puppy called poppy. She's a black labarador retriever and drives us all crazy at times but we just adore the buzz she brings to the house. Last week she caused me a shoulder injury by tugging when out walking - but I can forgive that for the fun she brings.

Last month my husband invested in the Resperate device for lower blood pressure - and boy is it effective? We've discovered that it's much better overall to lower blood pressure naturally.

Other sites I like to visit are:

European Vacations

Whiplash Injury

Maori Tattoos

In theory it is supposed to reduce the glare from overhead sun or from overhead lights - making it easier to see the ball

Thanks for your quick response. That's the same as I've heard, though I wonder if it actually yields improved visibility, or if its just a fashion fad.

I was hoping someone had knows of tests/experiments done to confirm or deny the positive effects on glare.

Maybe because it makes them look like mean mofos ready to crush bone, so it's suppose to scare the opposite line? Like war paint?

In my day job I write about Blood Pressure Treatment and treat those who suffer from blood pressure problems. Low blood pressure is a particular interest and I'm often asked about how to lower cholesterol levels. A healthy heart is becoming a huge focus for many of us nowadays. Improving your blood pressure control and thus the health of your heart and circulation system is really important. My most recent online "adventure" is to start a facility for people to ask me my opinion and to provide high quality health information by answering medical questions online.

I also have a special interest in the problem of feeling Tired All the Time and in those who suffer from chronic fatigue or lethargy. This seems to tie in also to skin care issues or skin treatment problems and suggestions. Tiredness and fatigue can lead to major problems for many individuals in modern society and the way that this can affect all areas of general health can be quite invasive in terms of daily life and coping skills.

My work with footballers and athletes leads to a focus on Painful Shoulder conditions and on the problems associated with frozen shoulder or whiplash injuryRotator cuff injury causes problems for many of my patients.

When not working I daydream about my next amazing european vacation trip  My favorite European cities include Paris and Barcelona and my next blog project will be to write about the best way to spend a night in Paris and how to find an apartment in Barcelona. I just love European travel in all its forms.

Sorry - don't know of any actual tests or experiments - I work with "real football" <grin> and the soccer guys dont tend to do that.

I have seen it used a lot by cricketers in night time games - who knows, these guys are all so full of habits and superstitions that its hard to separate the fact from the fantasy.

They do it to keep the sun out of thier eyes so they cam focus on the game more than the suns reflection on thier skin. If you watch man vs wild Bear Grylls will give you a good explination why

When I grow up, I wanna be a principal, or a cat-erpiller......

It definintely reduces the glare of nighttime lights for games played in stadiums, however it doesn't do much during the day.  Also, the only football players who technically 'need' them are defensive backs and receivers, guys whose jobs require that they look up in the sky to catch (or prevent someone else from catching) a thrown pass.

To be honest, most guys will admit that they wear the black grease just to look a little tougher, a little more intimidating to their opponent.

You'll never see a lineman sporting black grease under his eyes, unless he's a total poser.

I think it's a psychological thing. It's war paint, if I am not mistaken. They just want to show their opponents that they mean business.
