splitting tomatoe fruit

I have no problem growing tomatoe vines, but the fruits allways split in several places around the stem. What can I do to prevent this?

you might want to try a stick at the base of stem and tie up with string this will keep the stem from splitting  hope this helps...

This is usualy a sign of over fertilizing or feeding or really rich soil, try cutting back on feeding your plants. They now have hybrids that do not split. I plant both and they seem to do realy well. Good luck
