Glory my dear it is all a matter of brainwashing. Some fanatic said you could gain spiritual healing by spending time in a sweat lodge. People today are willing to believe anything new and "trendy." It's for the bored and the easily manipulated brain to seek peace of mind and spiritual healing through any means they can.
They used to be called saunas, people sat in them to lose weight, now it's taken on a whole new meaning. Just like so many things that have come before and will come in the future, it's all a matter of how pliable your brain is and how easy to manipulate.
It's no different then the big craze over colonics. They are worthless, have absolutely no medical benefits, and can actually be very dangerous. Right up there with the sweat lodges. The same applies.
If you THINK they will help or you will gain benefits from their use, of course they will work for you. It is however, all in your mind, and there is positively no scientific evidence to back up any of this hogwash!
It is very similar to giving a patient a placebo instead of real medication. You can trick the mind into believing anything, if the sales pitch is persuasive enough.
