A:

Sheila, love hurts and feels wonderful.  Love makes us certain and costs us every hint of certainty.  We don't often know what that attraction is or how we found ourselves attracted to that special new someone.  Love brings us to a new high of excitement and slams us to the ground in ennui.

It is important to know that others have come this way before.  That is why we have each other.

People are made of three things, all combined at the smallest planes:

We have a material form, called a human body.  We have a human spirit, called a mind.  We have an innate knowledge that there is something behind the scenes that shapes the course of our lives, that we call destiny.

It was your destiny to meet someone who perhaps doesn't care enough to care for you decently, so that you could grow stronger and develop that all-important sense of humor.  No, the "joke" is not on "you."  Sometimes things happen that we don't want to happen.

These are the precious times, when love seems so far away, that we realize how close another sort of love really is.  The Love of God is as close as that pain in your heart.  You need only turn to others, who have had the same experience, and came out positive for their trials.  It is easy to slip into negativity at times like this, to go as bitter and rebellious as Helen Gurley Brown or John Lennon.  Or you can find someone near you who has the love of God already showing in their life, and that will bring this potentially life-wrecking event and bring you into a new group of friends who will not fail you, frail humans that we are.
