Why are some spirits black? I have seen what i believe to be my deceased father, However he was black? Why ?

I have had some things that I have experienced, that I cannot explain. My father who passed away on Christmas Eve 2007 was a wonderful man in life. One night at 3:43am A black mass was standing over my bed,To make along story short. Why would he be a black mass? I could make out few features enough to know it was my father.I always thought black spirits meant they were evil. Could you please explain to me. I am confused. Thank-You Tina

Tina,  I have always heard that black spirits are angels.  Don't be afraid of them.

Hi Tina,

I'm sorry to hear that you have lost your father.

It is my understanding that spirits are neither black, white, nor purple. What we perceive as color has to be processed in our brain and the brain can only determine the amount of light the object reflects - which will be seen by us as different colors in the spectrum. But your father is neither white nor black while he is a spirit.

Is it possible that your mind wanted it to be your father? Would you have seen your father's features because you wanted to? Is it possible that you may have some unresolved issues? It is common to 'see' the spirit of a person we loved after they have passed.

The Christian bible says that "...the dead know nothing of the living..." so if you are a Christian, the issue should be resolved.

If you are not a Christian, then perhaps a spirit did appear to you. That does not mean that it was your father.

I feel that you should be very careful because you have no protection against these spirits unless you can call on the name of Jesus.

You can believe whatever you choose, but you should be very careful before you decide to attempt to pursue a 'conversation' with this spirit. Possession is more common than many people realize.

But there is a way you can test this spirit should it return. Spirits want only 3 things from you and in this exact order.

1. They want to engage you. Either in conversation or they will make you accept their presence as natural.

2. They want to obsesse you. In that they want your every waking minute to be consumed with them or thoughts of them.

3. Eventually they will want to possess you. At this stage you have already invited them in so they get to decide if or when they ever leave your body and generally they will stay until the day you die unless you have it exorcised.

If this spirit is your father and it returns then perhaps he has just come to put your mind to rest about something.

If this spirit is not your father and he returns again, he is trying to get you accustomed to seeing him so that you accept his presence as normal.

It is my understanding that your only recourse then will be to call on the name of Jesus. But you must believe.

Please remember that this is just my opinion. I do not know if I have more of a revelation about spirits than anyone else in the world...but I do know what they are and how to deal with them.

Be careful and God bless.

Black spirits are not evil. These are called shadow people, and no one in the paranormal field really understands why they are what they are.

Bonestructure,

You are right.

We are conditioned to believe that black is synonomous with dirty, wrong, and evil. And that white means clean and pure. It is written into our language and every fiber of our being. It is who we are.

So I have to agree with you that an evil spirit (assuming that it had a choice) would prefer to appear to a human as white rather than black.

But that does not change the fact that Tina may have to wake up in the dead of night one morning with a demon sitting at the foot of her bed, and no one there to help her get a grip on her situation.

I have tried to give her some idea of what to expect and what to do to protect herself.

Saying that "no one in the paranormal field understands" is an understatement. For the most part you are talking about a group of people who have absolutely no idea of what they are doing anyway.

As a group, they pretend to attempt to 'engage' spirits - but you cannot just engage a spirit and walk away.

Everything you say to a spirit (other than "Begone in the name of Jesus") means you are inviting this entity into your life.

And if you do not happen to be a Christian or believe that Jesus is the son of God, and that God loved us enough to send His only son to die for our sins - then you have no protection because you are still lost in that same old sin that was on your head from the day you were born.

I believe the bottom line, regardless of your religion or lack thereof, is that we must all remember that we are not flesh trying to live with a spirit in our body; We are SPIRIT striving to live in a flesh body.

You did not mention from what source you are looking for an answer to your question. From the Biblical source, the Bible says nothing about this encounter. For the exception that when we die we face God at the Judgment. What you saw was not your father. The only other thing it could be is an angel or demon. Angels are never portrayed as black; therefore the only other thing, what you saw, would be a demon having a similar appearance to your father. The paranormal is just demons deceiving the participants in believing what they feel or see is the spirit of a departed person, when it is not.

I have had exactly the same experience when my father expired. It was 4 am, I was neither asleep nor quite awake but I am a very light sleeper so no matter what I can wake up completely...I felt two fingers touch my forehead..seemed like my fathers and i woke up to see my father standing near my head...a black shadow..But the profile was my fathers..I cried and the shadow disappeared but after lng time..I kept rubbing my eyes,...but the shadow wont go away.
