Where does space end? And what's beyond it?

Where does space end? I've always had a hard time accepting that something doesn't have boundries or an end.

There must be something at the end, and if so, what contains that? And what's beyond that? Beyond our galaxy, all the others, and the universe.

I know its a question that astronomy and science will probably not reach in any of our lifetimes, but I'm curious to hear what people think about this.

 Happy New Year! Itay.

I guess space begins (or ends?) where the Earth's atmosphere ends (or begins?). And it is infinite, so it goes on beyond the scope of human comprehension.

On the other hand, it could be the area at the palm of your hand, or smaller...

Hi,

I know it's hard to grasp but we must come to the realization that there are certain ideas that our mind has trouble understanding. Infinity is a mathematical concept but it may have tangible meaning when it comes to space. I really think there are no boundaries to space, perhaps this is a romantic notion but I feel it has truth in it.

Best of luck.

Smile at someone today. It is contagious.  If someone looks like they need help.  HELP them it is contagious.

I think the Universe stops at the brick wall I beat my head up against sometimes with Teenage Daughters.

Since the universe began over billions of years ago, it continues to expand at an enormous rate since it was formed.  You would have to travel faster than light to actually see what is at the end, before the beginning of light hits the end, then how can you see without light?????????? Then   I know it weird, but you have to just leave the answer to GOD on this one....   Cool

Be a blessing to others

Hi, as an amateur astronomer with two telescopes and a firm belief in God, I don't think space has an end--at least in the sense of it coming to an actual physical end. This is one question that's been asked many times throughout history and when it comes right down to it, I don't think we'll ever fully know the answer to many questions like this. I don't believe God would ever fully let us understand the wonders of his creation. Its obvious to me, these wonders were created by an awesome creator, one in which we could not begin to understand. I think its good to ask questions like this, for it stimulates the mind and reminds of us of the greatness of our creator.
