When something is right, you don't have to defend it, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" 

The fact that one must bare up arms to defend themselves against something, ought to tell you it's not a right and good thing. When you know in your own heart something is right, you know God approves and there is no guilt, shame, accusation, self-condemnation or ANY doubt it is right.  There is no question, you just know, that you know, that you KNOW.  There are no doubts or questions and you have peace with God about it.

If you were 100% certain of yourself in this matter, why do you feel the need to explain, to ask permission, or approval, to have to speak up and defend this belief of yours, if it "is a good thing ".

If were a truly good thing, you wouldn't have to ask, defend, explain, & tell others, because none of those things would matter and you'd be absolutely certain of yourself and have a ready answer for all who may question or attack you in this matter.  You would have peace about it and would feel free to stand for your belief even before God, that is, if this were truly a right & good thing,

Our fleshly nature doesn't always want to do what is right and it's what GOD thinks and says, that matters above everything else.  Sometimes we gotta say no to wrongful desires and strive to please God first, then everything else in our lives we struggle against, will fall into place. As long as we strive to please only self, there will be struggles and defeat. But with Christ, there is victory in every area of life.  Only once we fully surrender, can we know what it feels like to be free!!

God is love, and we are to love one another unconditionally. The exclusive affection we give to others, of whatever sex, is more in the lust category and is biblically sin outside of marriage. But let's remember that this sin is no greater or lesser than gossip, lying or murder.

For heterosexual Christians, gays are easy targets. At least we can say we aren't committing THAT sin, so we aren't hypocrites for condeming them. But that's not the gospel. We are all sinners and will not stop in our own strength. We must invite Jesus to live within us and change us into His image.

For me, part of that has been removing alcoholism, obsessions with pornography and a general selfishness. It is not what I have done, but what Christ has done in me.

We can only extend to others the love we have received from Christ. Many so-called Christians have not received it because they are caught up in rituals and deep down fear of their own demons.

I encourage anyone in sin, no matter what it is, to surrender their flesh to Christ. There is no getting around the admonition that we are to die to ourselves, so none of us should be putting it off or straining to see around the planks in our own eyes to the sins of others.
