Looking for smart tax deductions for 2008

My wife and I will make about $400K this year. Our personal debt (credit cards) is $0 and our current 15 year mtg. has $300K and 10 years remaining at a fixed rate of 5.375%. Where is the best place for us to invest our $$ in an effort to hang onto the bulk of it?? We are maxed out on our anual 401K's, etc. Thanks, Bob & Phyllis 49

on the anniversery of your mortagage you should be allowed to put an additional payment of a percentage of the remaining amount. i would do this. with the remaining money it is the sensible option to either talk with a broker, or even your bank will give you some ideas. if you do decide to go with a broker ask friends and family who they deal with
