I have a small bump near the outside of my vagina ...

I have a small bump near the outside of my vagina and near my anus, inbetween the two. When I touch it, it is quite sore. I can almost pinch it up between my fingers, and it feels like a perfectly round ball.

When I looked it up on Web MD, it said it could be a boil, but it also said that if it is near your anus to call a doctor... Is this dangerous, whatever it is? I am so worried :(

i doubt its serious(yet)it is probably a clogged oil gland or something like a pimple.try holding a hot washcloth on it several times a day til it drains.maybe its more serious(being next to your anus)because the bacteria there is NOT tolerated by the vagina(or any other tissue for that matter),so cross contamination by your hands could occur in your vagina,or bacteria could enter via broken skin,or squeezing the bump could cause the pus to back up into the tissue and spread infection, possibly causing huge problems, like an abcess or something.

There are glands around that area that can clog and become inflamed and create knots.Have your Doctor check it.

You may have what is known as a pilonidal cyst.

A pilonidal cyst (from Latin meaning 'hair nest') is a blanket term for any type of skin infection near the tailbone. The term "pilonidal cyst" can be misleading, as a majority of the time, this is actually an abscess. These are normally painful, occur somewhat more often in men than in women (though, this is debatable), and normally happen in early adulthood (to the 30's). Although usually found near the tailbone, this painful condition can be found rarely in several other places, including the navel and armpit. A traumatic event is not believed to cause a pilonidal cyst, such an event that has been known to inflame an existing cyst.

It is a combination of two Latin words, pilus, meaning hair and nidal, meaning nest. The condition is now referred to as pilonidal sinus disease.

[edit] Diagnosis

Doctors are not sure what causes a pilonidal cyst. An old theory is that a small and harmless cyst has always been present at birth, and that for some reason, it has become irritated and formed a painful abscess. Another explanation is that it is an ingrown hair that has formed an abscess. It is very rare to find hair follicles inside the cyst however,it is very common for drained cysts to contain hair, though this is not thought to be the sole cause of the condition. Contrast this to dermoid cyst (a teratoma).

I have an occasional bump show up behind my ears and the outside labia of my vagina, they come and go away. I had it checked out and it's just a lymph node. Nothing serious.

Babe..Go To Your Gynocologist.

It could be Anything from a Blocked Gland,to Herpes,an Infected Hair Folicle.....the list goes on.

Putting off Finding Out is gonna make it Worse on You. Don't be Embaressed..Docs have Seen and Heard it All.It's Better to Just have a Pro Diagnose You than to get yourself All Psyched Up about what it Could Be.

In The MeanTime, Try a Hot Water Compress On It **if you can Bear It** If it's A Blocked Folicle it May Make it Go Away on it's Own by Helping it Drain **Hence the Hot Compress***. Do NOT TRY AND POP IT!!!!

Take Care of Yourself Hon, and Good Luck... Hope it Something Simple.
