I have a small bump near the outside of my vagina ...

I have a small bump near the outside of my vagina and near my anus, inbetween the two. When I touch it, it is quite sore. I can almost pinch it up between my fingers, and it feels like a perfectly round ball.

When I looked it up on Web MD, it said it could be a boil, but it also said that if it is near your anus to call a doctor... Is this dangerous, whatever it is? I am so worried :(

{Insert Catchy Phrase HERE}

I have a similar, perfectly round, often sore lump in each of my armpits and was told it's a cyst caused by inflamed sweat glands...and as the crotch tends to sweat a bit this could be your problem as well.  I was told they're harmless and rather simple to remove, but you should have it checked by a doctor since it could be the result of hemorrhoids or stds like the others said.

I had a bump that scared me.  I thought it look sort of like a very large pimple.  I had my fiance really look at it and he wasn't too sure either but he said it could be an ingrown hair or pimple.  It was painful, that's how I happened to find it.  I decided to give it a day or 2 to see if it would go away.  It did go away and hasn't returned.

I would rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am not!

I have had two kids and neither were as painful as the cysts they have to lance. I get them a lot (once every 6 months to a year for ten years). They are PAINFUL!

anything that hurts, no matter where it is, should be looked at by a doctor.  do not be embarrassed.  doctors, especially proctologists, have seen it all.  definitely go get it checked.  good luck.

If it does not go away by itself in a few days, have a gynecologist check it out.  In the meantime, do a warm sitz bath and wash with antibacterial soap.  I had a skin cancer in the same spot and had to have it surgically removed.  Also used to get infected sweat glands in the groin area, but never in the specific spot you mention.  Good luck.
