During my last travel to Africa I saw a tribe with very skinny men , I was wondering why the women were not skinny as the men?

I'm not sure where I heard this but in certain tribes, the women and children eat first. The men get whatever is leftover. Maybe those men don't get enough food.

Although I have no Idea, your information is interesting.
On the contrary. Men always eat first, then children and lastly women (if there any leftovers). The reasoning is that the man is the breadwinner and has to be in top shape. I don't know where Shima was in Africa but most of the plump/heavy women are found in West Africa and their diet is heavy on starches (which are fattenig). Also the men there traditionally prefer their women heavy and even sometimes send them away to fattening farms before the wedding until they are plump enough to the husband's taste. It is a sign of wealth. In other parts of Africa (East Africa, Southern Africa and North Africa) both men and women tend to be thinner. Diet is different.
