Hi there Tarah!

My name is Victor, writer and co-founder of Men Skin Care Tips. I was invited by Yedda to answer your question.

A moisturizer, whether day or night, is usually applied at the end of your skin care regimen. By this I mean at the very last, after your face wash.

With Proactiv, the have a 3 step program, which I would recommend following. On their website they mention using it morning and night. So you would apply the 3 step products in the morning and before going to bed. Hope this helps!

Hi there Tarah,

I wouldn't recommend switching your moisturizer until you've at least been on the Proactive treatment for a couple of months and your acne greatly diminishes. Also make sure that the moisturizer you switch to his for your skin type. Whether you haver dry, normal or oily skin, find a moisturizer that is for your skin type, this will help greatly.

Owner of Acne Skin Guide, an acne treatment and acne product guide, offering real, factual articles about acne.

Most acne is caused by hormonal influence on sebaceous glands, which then secrete an excess of oil. The oil traps dirt, foreign material and debris, and quickly attracts bacteria. Simply addressing bacteria is not enough since the process at the core has remained unchanged. Look for an anti-DHT acne treatment, which will greatly reduce the levels of oil secreted, and reduce the attractor for bacteria in the first place.

Honestly, I would stick with using the whole proactiv system, by itself, until you get your acne under control. And when I mean under control, I mean basically gone. The proactiv system is designed to work as a unit. If you break that bond, it could potentially not be as effective.
