Sure it means "something".  Why do you think he is lookig at you and not on someone else ? - The answer is simple: He is showing interest particularly in you.  If you show "no interest" he might stop his efforts.   So, if you are interested too (as it sure seems) better "encourage" him (give him a hint, e,g: smile.....).  If you want something don't just "hope" that it will happen, but be pro-active and help that "something" happen.
