I owed a judgement (Riverside, CA - state judgement?) for $2400. I paid this 5 or 6 years ago. On my credit reports, It showed up in 3 OTHER surrounding counties (Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Orange County. I challenged them as I have NEVER owed ANYTHING WHATSOEVER to any of these other counties at all at any time (only the PAID Riverside County one) When I challenged the other 3 counties, one county (can't remember which one) came back "PAID' which I was really upset about it as it APPEARS as if I actually DID OWE a judgement in that county (which is NOT true). The other two came back, UNPAID and appears as if I still DO OWE other judgements. This is affecting my score and makes me look like a slob or a bad risk. I have never been late on a house payement in 25 years.. I am an older person who is looking to re-fianace my house as I am on disability and need to take a little equity out and this is ruining my credit.
