I live in Needles and think that it is a great idea. It would be nice to have the County of San Bernardino gone, we have many County employees out here, in this City of less than 6000, but over 95% of them live over 40 minutes of travel time away, in another state no less. If you're going to feed at the public trough, have the decency to live in the State. I would like to see all of those people who transfered out here so that they could live somewhere else and drive the CHP, Sheriff and other County cars whose fuel costs are paid by my tax dollars out of the County and the State have to leave. As long as we are not the dumping ground for San Bernardino County, our little city could have a lot to offer, such as water rights- Needles is one of the handful of municipalities that have rights to the Colorado River, a necessity for any desert community. The people who live and work in the City do work hard and we do volunteer for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, AYSO, Little League, Needles Swim Team and all of the other activities, but you have only this core group of workers and volunteers who do everything, while San Bernardino County will send some family or individual on assistance ,who does not work or volunteer who has no inclination to get off aid, to live because the cost of living is lower. Tell me how this is fair? Secession? GO FOR IT!!
