How do I shorten a curtain rod?

Curtain rods can be cut, you will need to buy a small saw, mark the rod on how much to cut, saw on the line then bend the rod back and forth until it breaks.  Another way to hang your rod is the buy some round screw in hooks, they come in all sizes. Once you have them screwed in the wood, lay your curtain rod on the hooks.  Hope this helps you.

Karen, Most rods are adjustable.  Look to see if the 28" is a minimum size and whether the rod expands.  If not, you should be able to find some that will fit your windows.  I have two 24" windows with rods that expand to 40" and I think I probaby just bought them at Target or Walmart.  Look around and you should find many that you can use.
