How much should I settle for pain and suffering from an auto accident

I am at the point of settling with an insurance company for an auto accident. I damaged 9 teeth,my back, arm and neck. My doctor bills are over 12k. I need help from people to let me know what is an appropriate amount for pain and suffering. I do not want to get a lawyer involved. I believe that a community chat and discussion is a better savings for me. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You! MIke

I'm guessing you're an American. If you were in Canada you'd be looking at around 75,000 to the 100K mark or so (unless some of the injuries require ongoing treatment). If you are an American you have just won a legal lottery. You could be into the millions, I'm not sure how it all works down their but the payouts are drastically different than up here.

Make sure you consider your ongoing medical expenses. Don't just look at the bottom line of your current expenses. Reconstruction surgery? Loss of wages? etc. etc.
