I have an American Camper Brand 9'x7' EXTERNAL FRAME TENT that came BRAND NEW right out of the box without ANY instructions on how to set it up. I have been searching online for a week now trying to find out at least something, but the only thing I have found out is that I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. The net is FULL of people with the same brand tents that are looking to find out how to set them up because there were NO instructions with theirs either. I am going to list a COMPLETE description of the tent I have (as there ARE many different models made by this company , and there is no model # or otherwise identifying marks on my tent to even know which one I have. I am listing it's EXACT description (to the best of my ability) in hopes that someone WILL recognize what tent I have and can tell me how it goes up).Tent IS as follows: Tent IS an AMERICAN CAMPER BRAND 9'x7' (measured at base of tent) EXTERNAL FRAME TENT. It is BLUE , with WHITE and LIGHT GREY in color, with a DARK GREY rip-stop poly tarp tubbed floor. Has 1 door in front, has 1 window in back, sides are solid fabric devoid of windows or vents. Tent came out of the box in a large tent bag which contains the tent itself and 2 smaller bags. the smaller 2nd bag contains 11 red plastic tent stakes, and the larger 3rd bag contains 20 steel external frame poles that are color coded with stick on colored dots on 1 end of each pole AS FOLLOWS: 4 straight MAROON colored dot poles 24 1/2" long each with rubber caps on 1 end of each pole, 4 straight GREEN dot poles 24 1/2 " each, 4 straight BLUE dot poles 26 1/2" long each, 4 curved YELLOW dot poles 26 1/2" long each, 2 RED curved poles 16 1/2" long each with a U -shaped hanger in the center of the bend in each pole.( Poles are Shaped like a Half -spread U (45 Degree angle) with the hanger at the top of the bend in the middle of the poles), 1 straight PINK pole 24 1/2" long, 1 Straight WHITE pole 25" long. Tent says AMERICAN CAMPER on RIGHT FRONT of tent on bottom 1 foot from ground, on right side of doorway, but is devoid of any model #'s or other identifying markings. There ARE 2 tags INSIDE the tent that read: FOR QUESTIONS OR ASSISTANCE CALL MR. JOHNSON AT 1-800-255-6364. Other tag is fireproofing tag that states: Made in Dominican Republic and has #'s 4703/F9305 on it. Quality Control stamp on reverse side of this tag reads: PASSED UD T-A-8. I DID call the # listed , and got some phone sex hotline advertisement ( Ladies That Want To Talk To YOU). REALLY FOLKS!, I am NOT MAKING THIS UP , CALL THE # YOURSELF. I dont think any of these "LADIES" are going to be able to help me out. They might be able to help you "Pitch a Tent" , But I dont think they are going to be able to tell me "How to set a tent up". LOL! I did some further online investigating and actually DID come up with a valid phone #: 1-800-255-6061, which I also called only to find out that the company that distributed these tents (American Camper) went out of business 5 years ago and that THERE IS NO INFORMATION OR INSTRUCTIONS AVAILABLE FOR ANY OF THEIR TENT MODELS THEY MADE...IT SEEMS THAT ANYONE THAT BOUGHT ONE OF THESE TENTS THAT DIDNT GET ANY INSTRUCTIONS WITH IT IS ABSOLUTELY S.O.L.!!! I have been a mechanic for 38 YEARS, and I have assembled THOUSANDS of things without ANY INSTRUCTIONS WHATSOEVER, but after assembling this thing 8000 different ways and it still wouldnt stand up on it's own, I gave up. It REALLY does look like it is a good made tent, If I could only get it to stand up on it's own like it is supposed to. SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE OUT THERE HAS TO HAVE ANOTHER TENT LIKE THIS THAT KNOWS HOW TO SET IT UP. If ANYONE out there has the slightest clue on how to set this thing up RIGHT , PLEASE email me back at motofox262@aol.com and let me know. ANY help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! There ISN"T EVEN a picture of this thing ASSEMBLED on the box to go by. Have a good one ,everybody, and THANX! J.J. (motofox262)
