I have a house on the market for sale and I am currently renting it out for a year. If the home sells, do my renters have to move out before their lease is up?
My understanding is that if you have a contract with the renters, then you cannot sell the house before the contract is over. That is, unless the buyers agree to move in after the year is over. You cannot just force the people renting your house out if they have a contract. If you find a buyer who intends on renting the house out as well, then perhaps they could take over the contract immediately and allow the current renters to finish up their stay there while collecting the rent themselves. It seems to me that it would be much more simple to wait until the year is finished to sell the house, but I guess there is no hard in trying. Good luck.

Or if you have a small number of renters you can talk to them about the situation convince them but do not force them.
