when is self help needed in regards to substance abuse
Hi!
Self help in regards to substance abuse is needed AS SOON AS THE PERSON REALIZE that he/she is addicted and wants/needs help or wants a change of lifestyle. Also it's important to the person to realize where the life would lead him/her if continuing this destructive behaviour (jail, raped, killed...) Fortunately I am still in my road to recovery from my alcoholism, but I quarantee there's not a quick fix. "Cold turkey" detoxification at familiar surroundings (like home, at friends house etc.) could be life threatening depending on the severity of the abuse. The more substance abuse, the more the person needs medical help. Without it, it could lead to heart attack, internal bleeding, vascular interruptures, coma... I don't want to go further with this, but let me know if I was at all helpful. Hope you have happy holidays!
If you are asking this question then you might already be asking yourself or perhaps for someone else, do I need help with my substance abuse. Get the help as soon as possible because it will only get worse. A life of hell is forthcoming and no addict dies in vein. Do it quick!!!!
