Looking for impounded, repossessed, abandoned, government or seized cars for sale can be risky, but if you are organized there are many bargains on offer.

You should first get a comprehensive list of vehicles up for auction (I'll give you a link further on), and do your own independent valuation of all the cars which you could be interested in. Set a upper limit bid / value for every auto and don't go more than that price.

Important : The seized cars which you would like to bid on have to have titles (or at the very least  - be able to be titled) or else you can't obtain insurance.

If you have not experienced a seized car auction in the past then I advise you attend a few auctions beforehand in order to have a better comprehension of the process - it's would be worthwhile to build up a bit of confidence seeing that car auctions can be quite daunting the first occasion.

Once you have attended a few auctions you may begin to recognize the regulars - the people in shirt and tie are in all likelihood used car salesmen.

Check which vehicles they offer on , they're certain to know the market (what price they can retail the car for) and in addition the general condition of the cars - they will most likely be on friendly terms with the auction employees and would get further info - almost certainly more than us general public.

Consider that the car dealers wish to get a fat profit on the seized vehicles they bid on so they wouldn't like to tender as much as yourself - this whopping profit that the car salesmen would add on may perhaps be your huge savings ....
(This is the most secure method that I have found out for buying cheap impounded cars for sale - you could also go it solo if you have trustworthy advice and feel certain.)

The top way to get info about impending seized car auctions are with Gov repossessed and seized car sales and auctions , they are authorities and possess one of the biggest, up to date and most trustworthy information archives of Government & Police auctions of used, repo, impounded and seized vehicles, trucks and SUV's.

Otherwise you can try and check through hundreds of internet sites, magazines and newspapers, plus / or contact various vehicle repo institutes and credit unions. This would take heaps of time and effort , and honestly, you would not come remotely near to the quantity and standard of up to date data which a business who focusses on this could. If you require access to the top bargains on hand then getting the most complete and up to date info is crucial.

Hopefully I helped you a little with your search for repossessed and seized cars for sale.

All the best, and if you're patient and do the groundwork I'm sure you will be able to get an excellent deal!

I was hoping to buy a seized car below retail price. I always hear about police auctions and government auctions online and in commercials but they always lead to me having to pay for a membership. Does anyone know of a legit police auction or a place where I can buy seized cars? I'd prefer any place in new jersey.

Repossessed or seized cars are not just sold at auctions. A bank or other re-possessor must get fair market value, not just anything. Once a car is repossessed, the finance company or bank will have it cleaned up for sale, just like a dealer would do on a trade in car. If they get more than was owed on the car, they have to give the extra money to the person they repossessed the car from.

Try the local banks or credit unions. Credit unions will probably have more cars than a bank since they usually make more car loans.

seized cars are no less reliable than any other used vehicle randomly chosen off a dealers lot or from the private seller...
