Have you seen KID NATION?

Have you seen the new show on CBS called Kid Nation? If so, what are your thoughts? Do you think it should even be on tv? Do you think its odd that they are taping it in Mexico, because US child labor laws wouldn't allow them to film it here? Can you believe they took it as far as they did (with the kid killing and cutting off the chickens head? Where are they gonna go with it from there? I like the show but how are they gonna top the killing of the chickens?

I actually think it's kind of pathetic that Hollywood producers have stooped to this level as to have children fending for themselves. The only reason why they're taping in Mexico is because most laws in America do not allow this kind of abusive treatment to children. Worse, the parents actually allowed their children to participate in this "tv show" and should be ashamed of themselves.

"The Only Way to Get Smarter is by Playing a Smarter Opponent"

I love that someone finally replyed with their opinion on this show, so thank you, but I see it a totally different way! I think the show would've been even better if they would've left the kids alone a little more. They aren't really building their own town because adults are interfering every couple hours and they are really only "on set" 12 hours a day. Most of the parents of the children on the show wanted to teach their children responsiblity, independence, and hopefully build some character (and Im sure some wanted their children to get five minutes of fame too). The only parents who should be ashamed are the one's whose children aren't doing anything, whining all the time, and acting like spoiled little brats!

I guess the parents just like to make their children independent.. but I'm not into this kind of tv show.. maybe it's because of the thought that children was becoming too independent that sometimes they might think that they can manage to do everything.. and that they will just listen to themselves..
