Is there a way to save an event on Second Life?

Is there a way to save an event on Second Life? A friend of mine is giving a lecture on Second Life tomorrow evening but my computer seems to have forgotten that it has a hard disk so I can only use from a Linux Live CD right now, and I can't use Second Life. I'd like to know if there's a way to get someone else to record the event for me so I can watch it later.

In order to record the event you can use this wiki which has many solutions and tricks for Second Life. About the voice seems like you can do it on a Mac:
