Sounds like a good deal ,unless your on the receiveing end of the two for one,Do a search for your local court house sweetie,in the state it was committed,then they should have a law library,that you can look it up ,its very important you get your own state and town,county as laws very from place to place,Contact your local legal Aid if you have one in your area,they will help and maybe represent you usually for free or what ever you can pay.Dont go to court on a charge like this with out an attys representation,if you do not have the money the court should appoint you one free of charge tell the judge or clerk ,you are indigent ,have no money etc,Unless you can afford the 2 or $300.00 an hour plus expences most charge,and they dont like to hurry,and they charge you for every telephone call,paper clip,pencil thumb tack etc,But trust me,what would be even worse is to go before a judge on a charge like that defending yourself,With an atty you have a chance as they know the law,and are experts and can get you off on the slightest tecnicality,or at the bare minimum get you a reduced charge and punishment if any,if you hire an atty you best have deep pockets as the state will try there best to stall and use up what little money you have ,they know almost no one can afford a sustained court fight as normal people just dont have the money,so thats why you tell them you are indigent and have none so they appoint you a court appointed public defender,while most are new attys starting out,its a heck of a lot better than no atty.And the price is right.you can e-mail if you have any questions i can help you with ,smalpecker@aol.com
