I am assuming that your project is dealing with wind and ocean currents... The horozontal and vertical circulation of ocen waters are called currents.  Major causes of ocean currents include wind friction, gravity, and variation in water density in different parts of the ocean.  Here is some more information for you.  I hope this helps.

The wind is directly responsive to the pressure of the air. 

But, the ocean's current is responsive to the pull of the moon on the earth's water.  This controls the tides and when the high and low tides occur.

It seems that wind and ocean currents both resulted from the sun energy that heat them and with this heat causing a gap of temperature that generate both the current and the wind movement. Another common thing for them is that they are both are

sources of renewable energy.
 

High tide and low tide due to moons gravitational field. Some low intensity winds are due to temperature variations also
