what happens to an empty bottle with no cap in space?
Love is the battery of life....
Hi,
Thanks for answering my question it was probably a stupid, but actually, that was not the answer i was looking for. You see, if you seal every hole and pump water at the same time the bottle will expand and ultimately explode. That's because oxygen is occupying all the space and there's no room for matter. But, since there's nothing in space, not even oxygen, then it should be possible to pump water in the bottle without it exploding. But it doesn't make sense that a bottle can be litteraly ''full of nothing'' So I guess a better question would be... Does a bottle get crushed in space if it had no cap? Or is my theory just way off?
On Earth, the "empty" bottle is really full of air, that is, it "contains" the same as its surroundings.
It's the same in space: the open bottle will have the same "contents" as the surroundings, that is, vacuum.
