My son has migraines and needs accommodation to ...

my son has migraines and needs accommodation to attendance policy. school refuses 504 as child is academically gifted. now what?  After 10 absences per year, they will give zeroes....child avergages 57 days per year over last 5 years but does well academically.  is it not possible to be academically gifted and get protection as a disabled student?
