When we say

When we say "G-d damn it", is that considered using God's Name in vain?

If you're a Christian, I would say, yes, it is. I was, I suppose, as vulgar as anyone in my youth. But as I got older, I found I simply did not need profanity to express myself. I'm not a Christian, mind you, but aside from the occasional damn, I simply find profanity unnecessary.

And He scores!!!!

Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

No. I do not consider it blaphemous or taking GOD's name in vain. I find it rather presumptuous to ask the Creator of the universe to damn anything that He has created.

H7723 This is the number found in Strong's concordance which corresponds to the word vain [שׁו    שׁואo]. From the same as H7722 in the sense of desolating; evil (as destructive), literally (ruin) or morally (especially guile); figuratively idolatry (as false, subjectively), uselessness (as deceptive, objectively; also adverbially in vain): - false (-ly), lie, lying, vain, vanity.

The phrase "so help my GOD" looks to me like it is much more in violation of this command than is the phrase that you inquire about.

Speaking about GOD in a derogatory manner is a violation.

Fundamental Christian. Oh, Lord, it's hard to be humble, when I'm quite flawed in every way. I sure hate to look in the mirror. I'm been sinful every day.

Do not group things in life together, see them as individual.

if you mean "God damn" this situation, or evil for throwing the obstacle, that is acceptable and in some case understandable.  But if it is because you want to blame God for that which evil has done, or you created?  You are putting a blemish on your spiritual light.  It is how you feel about what, why and who you choose to blame for that point you reached in the use of Gods name in vain.
