A Haiku is made up of three lines consisting of a certain number of syllables.

The first line consists of 5 syllables, the second line consists of 7, and the last line consists of 5.

Consider the first two lines as an observation of life, a thesis, a first thought. The third line is the comment on - or resolution to - the first two lines.

Traditionally, the observation is drawn from nature, but contemporary haiku permits the inspiration for your observation to be based on any personal experience.
