I don't recall where John Kennedy's Catholicism ...

I don't recall where John Kennedy's Catholicism interfered with his functioning as President of the United States. Why are people afraid of Romney who is a Mormon?

Kennedy was the only President who wasn't a WASP (he was a WASC), but I guess it's easier to focus on the differences than on the similarities. Plus Mormons are a much smaller minority, and their views in matters such as family are widely different than the average protestant.

I think it won't be a determining factor, even of various campaigns choose to emphasize this fact over other issues.
