there are 2 major risks when removing hair by laser:

1. you can get burned or get blisters.

2. you skin pigments might change.

all of those risks are rare and if you will have one of them, you can get a lot of money by suing... so go ahead and have fun.

Scaring is another permanent  side affect you can get from the treatment . You also have temporary side affects which are:Pain, Swelling, Redness, Hyperpigmantion (a change skin color).

The risks are minor, I got laser hair removal in 2003 in NYC @ Romeo and Juliette Laser Center, (on my legs, bikini area and underarms) my hair has not grown back and I have no know side effects and my skin was never burned or changes in pigment. I would say do the research and make sure they are properly trained. Speak to other people who have gotten this treatment before and ask where they got it done. The end results are great and you never have to shave again. Do the research and speak to others!!!!

There are many possible side effects. Because you are dealing with a high powered laser, their is a lot of heat being produced. Burns are common, as well as irritated skin.

As for the permanence of hair removal, each case is different. Depending on the quality of hair (thicker, darker hair is more easily removed) depends on the permanency for the removal.  It is important to talk to your doctor so you can know what to expect before you go under the laser.
