What is ringing in ears?  I occasionally hear a high pitched ring for about 15 seconds.  What is this?

The medical term for this phenomenon is tinnitus. There are many possible causes for tinnitus, among them are infections, exposure to loud noises, neurological disorders and many many more. You can read more about it on

wikipedia, but only a doctor can diagnose what exactly causes your tinnitus.

its is called tinnitus and is quite common I think

it also may be accoustic neauroma,a growth on the accoutic nerve
